There have been a number of things moving on the latest round of Action Teams! All teams have had their first meetings, and the notes are beginning to come in. Check the respective Action Team pages for links to those. We have also set up Forums for each of the teams to help facilitate the continuing conversations related to the the Action Team work.

The next three Actions Teams have been announced. Action Team #4 is Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity, co-led by Drs. Michele Eodice and Joy Pendley. Reports from Aspire 2020 Action Teams 1, 2 and 3 are posted for public comment below. Please provide comments by clicking on the link shown, and view the comments posted by your colleagues by using the same link. Reports will be posted through Labor Day, September 6, and then additional meetings will be announced to finalize and begin implementing recommendations.

Also, due to the general consensus achieved, the final two meetings for Action Team #1 have been cancelled. Work on the initial draft document will begin. Perhaps of particular interest to Action Team #2 members, but made available for all to read is a working draft by Edward Sankowski titled "College of Arts and Sciences Research Collaborations with Other Colleges (at the same institution)". You can download it from our Useful Resources page. It originated as a talk given on November 14, 2009 at the Council of Colleges of Arts and Sciences Annual Meeting held in Baltimore, MD.

Also, we continue make changes to the web site. Mostly recently, in order to address some usability concerns, we have implemented a method to group the recent comments by Action Team. Now it should be easier to focus on a particular Action Team and its discussions. Of course, we invite you participate in any and all of the Action Teams' discussions.

Week 2 of the Action Teams meetings is in full swing. Today, we have added the meeting notes and presentations for the second meeting of the Crosscutting Campus-wide Research Themes Action Team. Read the notes here.

Also, Action Team #2 has created a listserv to facilitate conversations beyond its meetings. This is a supplemental method for participating in Crosscutting Campus-wide Research Themes discussion. All communications will be archived at this page for threads and follow-ups. Everyone who wishes to join the discussion please sign up to the list at the website. Everyone can also remove oneself from the list if one wishes to no longer participate in the discussion. We strongly encourage you to continue using the commenting system on meeting pages.

April 21, 2010:
Action Team meetings have begun! If you were unable to attend this week's meetings, you can still participate in the discussion. Simply go to any of the Action Team pages, click on the meeting date to be taken to an overview of the meeting information and meeting notes. Read through them and leave comments and the bottom of the page.

All three Action Teams have been announced. Research Incentives and Rewards has announced their meeting schedule. The first meetings have been announced for Crosscutting Campus-Wide Research Themes and Arts and Humanities.

Also, the first meeting of Aspire 2020 Action Team on Research Incentives and Rewards will take place from 9:00 – 10:15 am on Tuesday, April 20 in Room 122 of Dale Hall.  The dates and times of all other meetings, to be held weekly with the exception of finals week, will be announced and placed on the Aspire 2020 web site once rooms have been secured.  Note that different days of the week will be used as much as possible for future weekly meetings to avoid repeating class schedule conflicts.
